This year's theme 'Design for looking beyond' is an invitation to look beyond, to open up to unexplored horizons.
Cinema and design. This year Ceramiche Caesar once again invests its strength and vision in the Caesar Design Film Award, the competition organised as part of the Ennesimo Film Festival.
Until next 24 March, all directors - amateurs or professionals - who wish to talk about design through the language of the short film can upload their work onto the dedicated platform.
The winning short films will be screened and awarded on the evening of Thursday 2 May in the historic setting of Fiorano's Teatro Astoria.
The project, which started at Caesar five years ago, aims to create a bridge between the world of design and the world of cinematographic art, understood as a communicative and educational reality, capable of involving and making people reflect on the world of design in its various forms of expression.
Guided by this year's title "Design for looking beyond", the directors are called upon to translate into images the essential attitude of a designer, that of looking beyond.
To seek new horizons, to innovate, to explore new and unthinkable forms, aware that every future begins with a vision.
In addition to the partnership with the Ennesimo Film Festival, the Caesar Design Film Award also continues - in perfect line with the company's mission - its collaboration with universities, involving students of Architecture, Design, Graphics and Art, who are called upon to assign the special mention Wannabe Designer.
A delegation from Ceramiche Caesar and the Ennesimo Film Festival will also be the guests of a lesson held by Prof. Elena Vai of the UNIBO design department to talk about the project.
The jury and the awards
On the evening of 2 May at the Astoria Theatre, in addition to the official prize awarded to the winner by a five-member jury composed of Caesar representatives and academic personalities from the design and cinema fields, two special mentions will be awarded: the first one proposed by the Wannabe Designer jury - university design students -, the second one put forward by the audience in the auditorium, who will be called upon to express a preference on the short films screened.
