Located in the corner between Corso Tassoni and Piazza Bernini, at just a stone's throw from the centre of Turin, the early 20th century villa has become part of Bernini², an eclectic real estate renovation and expansion project based on sustainability, innovation and elegance. In what has been described as "a passing of the torch with history", innovation and assimilation of a place's identity live side by side to create a residential complex with an extremely contemporary design. Thanks to the brilliance and to the cooperation between the architect Filippo Orlando and + Studio Architetti with Mediapolis engineering, the plan of the entire project has focused on understanding history and considering the effects of this on the building. The result of this work is a contemporary interpretation of existing elements: the new building complex, for instance, has been shaped on the façade of the historical building; it has encompassed and acquired the original geometric elements and has re-coded them from a modern point of view. Creativity, functionality and aesthetics: these are the three criteria used to award the winners of the La Ceramica e il Progetto, a competition that selects the best architectural developments featuring Italian ceramic tile. Ceramiche Caesar steps onto the podium thanks to the Bernini² La Villa e La Torre project, winner of the Residential category, where material manufactured by the company of Fiorano Modenese has been chosen for various environments. The touch of Ceramiche Caesar has offered its charm both to interior and exterior spaces of the complex. One, the collection that combines the soft and enveloping tones of earth to the original and modern appeal of concrete, has been chosen for many spaces, in particular in its Rope and Gesso tones and 60x120 cm size. The stone effect of Elapse has contributed to the minimalist elegance of the indoor swimming pool, along with the trim pieces of the Aquae range, Caesar's solution for wellness areas. The stone effect has also been adopted for customised trim pieces that have given their original touch to the interior staircases. Outdoors, the colours and harmony of wood effect porcelain stoneware of the Life collection, in its warm Oak colour, have covered the terraces in a perfect match with the Mist colour of Elapse, with the added advantage of the 20 mm thickness capable of granting functionality and aesthetic appeal in outdoor projects.
