To blow out the forty candles on the cake at the Bologna event, all the world-class companies that, over the years, have chosen it as a springboard for their innovations. These include Caesar, which here retraces the stages of its special connection with the Bologna Exhibition.

September 2023 - Cersaie turns forty and is ageing very well.

The Bologna Exhibition, the most important international appointment for those involved in surface design and bathroom furniture, celebrates an important milestone this year, symbolising a rich and dynamic history that looks to the future with positivity and enthusiasm, well aware of its past.

With forty years of evolution behind it, Cersaie is witness to important changes that have affected the world of design and architecture. It is here, in fact, that the world's leading manufacturers have always decided to launch their novelties and creations, setting milestones in an ever-growing sector.

This is why Caesar has chosen to take advantage of such an important anniversary to retrace some of the most significant stages in its history, unquestionably linked to the editions of the Bologna event. A history studded with successes, a firmament of chances turned into opportunities.

In 1989 Caesar made its first appearance at Cersaie, immediately emerging as an innovative company specialising in the production of porcelain stoneware. This was a bet on the future, considering that at the time this material represented only 3% of Italian ceramic production, whereas today it has conquered the market thanks to its unrivalled technical and aesthetic characteristics.

In 1999, Caesar launched the Millenarie collection, confirming its avant-garde potential. It was in fact the first stoneware collection with natural inspiration, the first stone effect on the ceramic market.

Collezione Millenarie 1

The new millennium opened with a turning point: Bologna became a privileged showcase for the presentation of the Feel collection. It was an exceptional novelty in the field of ceramics at that time, thanks to the use of special materials inserted directly at the press: surfaces rich in chiaroscuro with a millerighe effect- with alternating shiny and matt, pleasant to the touch, with a range of intense colours. The following year saw the debut of More, an earthy ceramic solution inspired by totally natural colours and a line whose success was ensured by simplicity. The insertion of reflective micro-elements makes for a particularly attractive product.

But the passion, curiosity and love of research inherent in the company's DNA drove the company to seek out new solutions to make a difference.

It was in 2011 when the Aextra20 line, the 20-mm thick porcelain stoneware for outdoor use, made its appearance at Caesar. An important product innovation, which opened an important new market for outdoor ceramic solutions.

While facing an increasingly demanding and competitive market, the company based in Fiorano Modenese did not cease to believe in the extraordinary power of a material capable of nourishing the visions of professionals and private individuals.

Thus new creations Made in Caesar were produced, up to the innovations of more recent years.

Collezione Iconica Aextra20 2

From Project Evolution, the line of large size porcelain stoneware slabs created in 2015 to Olos, the brand presented at Cersaie 2019 founded to enhance the use of slabs for the entire furnishing project:  Caesar extends its application possibilities and offers solutions for worktops, bathroom and kitchen furniture, tables, custom-made furniture and fittings, all featured by first-class technical features, aesthetic value and a comprehensive range.

Until last year's edition, when the Bologna exhibition was the showcase for the launch of Deco Solutions: the range of wall decorations that exploits the latest technological developments to offer surfaces characterised by vivid colours. Slabs with an unmistakable aesthetic and tactile character, capable of becoming protagonists of any interior environment.
