ISO 14002

ISO 14001

Testifying to this commitment, back in 1998 we were the first ceramic manufacturer in the world to obtain ISO 14001 certification, which sets the “environmental management system” requisites for companies, analysing not only production processes but also R&D, design, purchasing and material handling departments. The certification, obtained with DNV - one of the world's most respected certification bodies - verifies every possible environmental impact deriving from the company's manufacturing process.

ISO 9001

Optimisation and recycling have become fundamental requisites of every process for us. To this end, we obtained ISO 9001 certification which requires maximum corporate commitment to optimisation of processes, from receipt of raw materials through to shipping of finished goods. We have also adopted the “Life Cycle Assessment” (LCA) approach, which allows us to analyse and plan the product life-cycle, from raw materials through to the finished product, respecting natural resources and the environment.

LEED

The new global challenge today is LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design): one of the most widespread building certification systems in the North American market, which is now gaining ground in the rest of the world too. Caesar has been awarded the USGBC mark (U.S. Green Building Council), of which it is a member. The certification method envisages the allocation of a score to the building in question, awarded based on verified compliance with the various pre-requisites and LEED credits (sustainable sites, efficiency in water management, energy consumption and impact on the atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation in design).

All Caesar porcelain stoneware products can contribute towards the allocation of LEED credits for the purpose of certification and many of our products are manufactured using a considerable percentage of recycled pre-consumer raw materials, an important requisite for obtaining additional LEED credits.
